A great way to warm up in Uruguay throughout the winter months is to take part in a dance class.  Tango and Salsa are two favourites, and it is easy to see why.  I started Salsa classes here in La Paloma a few weeks ago and I must say, I never realized how much fun it was going to be!

Tango was born in Uruguay and Argentina and quickly spread throughout the World.  It really is contagious to watch, and I figure that when you are in South America, a great way to get into the atmosphere of the area is to join in on the dancing.  There are many places in Montevideo where you can learn to dance or at the very least watch others performing.  You don’t even have to go that far because in some plazas in the centre of town you will find people dancing the Tango.

One night in Montevideo, we went to Bar Fun Fun.  As the name suggests, you are really guaranteed a good night out.  The night we were there, they were playing Tango music (I think it was a Tuesday night), and the atmosphere was just so much fun.  The food was yummy and not expensive, and the entertainment was great.
